Dominick Sheldon is a British photographer & director based between Los Angelese, New York and Europe.
He is currently engaged in producing a range of international work.
Originally from Brighton, Sussex, he studied in France and completed a BA in Photographic Arts with honors at the University of Westminster in London. Moving to New York he continued his photographic career.
Since starting his own studio , he now works for an international client base. His work has been exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery and continues to be featured in leading editorial fashion magazines.
Continually inspired but the craft of fashion and design and how these define an individuals place in culture, an inveterate traveller he fuses these genres together in his work.
Continuing to publish a photographic journal that explores the relationship with the established order of social concepts within a community environment which often negates atypical individuals. By using portraiture as a medium, the work erodes pre-conceived social barriers; and as he crosses that fragile and difficult boundary, creates an intimate and compelling human connection with his subjects.
This understanding of the human condition is transferred to his editorial and commercial work were he invites the viewer to engage with an
intermit portrait of his subject matter with a focus on their beauty.
