In 2018 London had 60 days in which there were no recorded sun hours, California had 2.
Learning to love photographing London has taken me some time. The grey, overcast and [mostly] colourless nature of the city have proven a stubborn subject. Photographing California was something that came far more naturally. Finding the colours, light and structures of California in London has been both an arduous and rewarding task.
This book collates the photographs I took of Salton Sea, Los Angeles and Palm Springs in 2018, and a selection i've taken in London since.
