I am half British and half Danish. I have designed a zine exploring a British youth culture perspective of the Danish social concept - Hygge. It is a project aimed at countering the disconnection among youth today and an intention of prioritising genuine human connection through understanding this ambiguous term, that in the UK is currently only understood as candles and cosiness, but in actual fact it is so much more. I have collected a set of poems, conversations and stories from the people closest to me exploring my new 'Brit-Hygge', that speak with a bank of archival photography capturing the lives of young British people.
