
Amber is 4am. You’re alone, wandering the streets. It’s quiet, perhaps melancholic. You’re disconnected. The world is still there. It’s just the other side of a thin membrane you can’t pierce.
The project grew out of my long term interest in the experience of living in a dense urban environment and my need to find a way to cope with the mental health difficulties I faced during the pandemic in London. Amber took three years to take shape and morphed from a therapeutic project into a work that represents something essential about living in a dense urban setting.
